Christmas Cake MK II

The first Christmas Cake was boootiful so much so that it was all scoffed well before Christmas... Better make another one then.



See the detail in the decoration... The snow man is all edible, his insides are made from Marzipan his scarf is Icing, the buttons are Lentils and his arms are twigs....... OK, so you'd have to cook the lentils first and the twigs might get stuck in your teeth....


...At night the snowman comes to life just like one that Aled Jones sings about, except this one is no fun, he is only 1inch high, not so much floating in the air as wafting round the living room.


See inside the Cake....(that was just one slice by the way) the succulent cherries, juicy Sultanas and Light fruity mixture. anything missing? Ah ha! there are no BURNT, BLACK, CRISPY, SHRIVELED "COOKED CURRENTS" BLAAAAAAAGHHHH!


...and sort of just like in the story of the Snowman I came down in the morning to find the Cake had Melted....Burp!.... ahem.

Our Little Garden Friends

A new family of cheeky Robin redbreasts has arrived at the top of the garden. They have moved into the exclusive Middle Hedge area with views towards the fish pond on one side and Wild garden with plenty worms to the rear. They are very tame, after just a little digging they are perched on your shoulder tweating away with excitement at the prospect of some big fat worms.

Christmas Preparations

Christmas is in the air, early November and little Girls and Boys thoughts turn towards festive matters.... Well they do in our house!

First job is to make a Christmas Cake, a special recipe was found that did not have filthy dirty currants in. It was going to be a good un as the mixing bowl did not need washing having been licked spanking clean by Chef.

Sure enough the cake was a beauty, light and fruity. Sorry there was no chance of a picture too busy scoffing. This is all that was left by the end of the next day.... BLOIK!
